McLean, Brian
British author, translator and journalist. He spent periods in Japan and Austria before settling in Hungary in 1977. He is the author of "Escape Routes: Ten Excursions from Budapest" co-written with Tibor Szendrei and "Hungary - Culture Smart! The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture" co-authored with Kester Eddy. He has translated more than fifty, mainly scholarly books, including Gabriella Balla’s Herend (an illustrated history of the porcelain factory), Political Economy of Socialism by János Kornai, and The Holy Crown of Hungary by Endre Tóth and Károly Szelényi.
